the baggage claim area. On Lihue,

claim. On Kona, you will be greeted
between the sliding doors and the
baggage claim area.
HISTORY
The
custom of lei giving was introduced
by the early Polynesian explorers,
who took the arduous journey from
Tahiti, navigating by the stars in
sailing canoes. With these early settlers,
the lei tradition was born in Hawaii.
These garlands were worn by the ancient
Hawaiians to beautify themselves and
to distinguish themselves from others.
The lei was used in many religious
practices to the ancient Hawaiian’s
deities.
With
the advent of tourism in the Hawaiian
Islands, the custom of lei greeting
became the symbol of Hawaii to millions
of visitors worldwide. During the
boat days of the early 1900s, lei
vendors welcomed the malihini —
or visitors — to the islands
and welcome the kama’aina —
locals — back home. It is said
that departing visitors would throw
their leis into the sea as their ship
passed Diamond Head in hopes that
like the lei, they too would return
to the islands someday.
Since
1983, Aloha Reservations has easily
brought visitors the nostalgia of
old Hawaii. By continuing that age
old tradition, visitors are welcomed
with fresh flower leis of aloha to
the Hawaiian Islands. Whether they
are traveling alone or with a large
group, our staff will be standing
by to assist their first of many experiences
they will encounter in the islands.
One
of the few companies, Aloha Reservations
provides lei greeting services to
the four major islands of Hawaii:
Honolulu on Oahu, Kahului on Maui,
Lihue on Kauai, and Kona on the Big
Island. You can celebrate a special
occasion or convey a personalized
thank you with a gift of a fresh fruit
basket, a tropical floral arrangement,
or a liquor gift of champagne or wine.
For
those who are unable to experience
the personality of Hawaii first hand,
we provide dendrobium orchid leis that are able to
be delivered to the US Mainland. No
matter what the occasion, we have
fresh flower leis year round.
